The Stich Charitable Foundation (SCF) is a private, non-operating, 501(c)(3) grant-making foundation which originated as the result of a generous estate gift of Peter Stich of West Hartford, CT. Peter was a unique fellow who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to laugh, have meals with friends, and was always up to go window shopping for cars or airplanes. Peter and his wife of decades, the late Gail Stich, loved dogs and they cherished many throughout their lives. While Peter and Gail were not blessed with children, their dogs were like offspring and were treated with love and care. Peter and Gail were both wonderful, kind people.
As a real estate developer, Peter identified as an entrepreneur, taking risk on every business deal he contemplated. He lived through some difficult downs in real estate, but with determination and grit, he weathered the storms to rise again. He began his real estate career projects in Boston and eventually returned to his home state of Connecticut to focus on residential real estate in an area where his father had developed over 7,000 residential homes throughout his career. Peter maintained an office in West Hartford Center until his retirement.
Peter was known to help others throughout his life with quiet and generous gifts. He appreciated those who had determination to better their lives and work hard to achieve the American Dream and financial independence.
Peter is shown here in a lighter moment at a department store. This picture embodies Peter's spirit, love for fun, and the hijinks of being with friends.
